Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Wedding

There are so many beautiful and unique wedding venues in Northern Colorado and often, it can be challenging to find a wedding site that checks all of the boxes. Jennifer and Patrick wanted something rustic and outdoors, and what they chose for their big day was absolutely perfect. And I mean perfect. With the exception of me getting stuck in an elevator during the preparation photos at the hotel (yes that happened), everything about this wedding was amazing. The decor fit the rustic-barnyard vibe perfect, all of the flowers were in bloom, the weather was moderate, all of the details were well-crafted and the bride and groom were fun to photograph and be with. Plus, the party at the end of the night was epic – it was the first time (and hopefully not the last) I heard the song “Sandstorm” played at a wedding, and everyone loved it.

The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield is in Littleton and is not to be confused with the Botanic Gardens just outside of downtown Denver. While that venue is great in it’s own regard, the Chatfield Farms version is much more rustic, less touristy and gives you that country-feel many couples want for their wedding. We started the day off-site at a nearby hotel getting all of the preparation shots and taking photos of Jennifer’s dress, her ring, shoes and other important details. I then popped over to the guys’ getting ready room where I captured their custom made fly fishing boutonnieres and matching wood watches. Afterwards we headed to the venue where I captured their emotional first look, and then we spent the rest of the time before the ceremony getting bridal party groupings, posed family photos and photos of Jennifer and Patrick by themselves. I literally could have shot there all day, the possibilities were endless! The ceremony took place in a field towards the back of the venue, and it was very secluded and perfect. The reception then took place in the barn near the entrance to the venue, and I can’t begin to describe how perfect the decor was in there – look at the photos for yourself. At the end of the night, I took the newly-wed couple outside to get some dramatically lit shots like I’m known for. And as always, I incorporated my artistic infrared photography into the shots. This is a Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Wedding I’ll never forget!

A big thanks to all of the vendors that helped make this day possible!
