Sylvandale Ranch Wedding
:
If you’ve ever driven up Highway 34 headed towards Estes Park, you’ve probably noticed the big Sylvandale Ranch sign on the side of the road. Sylvandale is an absolutely beautiful venue and has a lot of rustic features to accommodate most weddings. Despite getting hit brutally by the flooding in 2013, they have invested a lot of hard work getting the ranch back to its glory, and continue to stay strong.
What I love most about this venue is its location. It sits right on the Big Thompson river which provides a peaceful setting, and is stationed right on the base of the mountains as you enter the Big Thompson canyon displaying stunning views. The ceremony site up top of the venue is gorgeous and is one of my favorite views in Colorado – definitely request to see this area if you’re looking to scope the venue for your big day.
Last fall I got to spend Kelly and John’s special day together for their Sylvandale Ranch Wedding. Kelly got her hair and makeup done in the Annie Oakley room, while John was off doing something fun with his groomsmen (I didn’t get the opportunity to see him beforehand like I usually do with most grooms). John got to see Kelly for the first time as she was walked in to the ceremony site by her father, and was blown away by how beautiful she looked! After a short, but heart-felt ceremony (only 8 minutes, I timed it!) I stole away the bridal party for a couple photos, and then went on a carriage ride with Kelly and John around the property. We rode up to the edge of the ranch and got some very scenic shots. They opted to have an indoor reception and decorated it beautifully which carried the party well through the evening.
