I traveled north to the Pacific Palisades right on the border of Santa Monica to shoot the wedding of Lauryn and Sean.
The location was absolutely gorgeous and felt very secluded from the nearby commotion of the beach traffic which was nice. The location was Buerge Chapel at Aldersgate Retreat.
I enjoyed shooting this wedding not only because of how great Lauryn and Sean were to work with, but their vendors were equally helpful and pleasant to work with.

The color scheme was purple and green for this wedding which fit the location perfectly; it was very “earthy” with a nature feel to it. I’ve shot a lot of purple-themed weddings this season and this particular one pulled it off very well.
Something I don’t recall ever seeing at a wedding, was the Bride putting the finishing touches on the cake herself before the ceremony! Lauryn told me she made this cake to fit her wedding theme; if you want something done right, do it yourself am I right? The cake came out amazing!
The invitation and rings in themselves were also beautiful.
Lauryn and Sean then got ready for their big moment, but not before we took some photos.
Wanting to stick to tradition, Lauryn and Sean didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony, but obviously there was much anxiety building up.
Seeing them both suffer, I decided it would be ok to let them at least hold hands for a second around the corner, as you can see they were very excited for this little preview.
Shortly after, the ceremony began, and a beautiful one it was.
Afterwards we all had some fun with portraits.
Of course, the reception came after for even more fun.
I had a great time shooting this wedding!
