A message from Lara photography regarding  COVID-19 and the effects on your wedding:

Let’s state the obvious – COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on our community is terrible. Businesses and families are struggling, and the wedding industry is no exception. Photographers, florists, DJs, venues and other vendors are all personally feeling the impact and we are currently facing the biggest challenges of our career. While we all want weddings and events to resume as normal so we can feed our families, pay our mortgages and save for rainy days, we understand that your family’s health must be a priority. As a result, we want to be as flexible as we can to make sure your dream wedding is still a reality. Here are some commonly asked questions from our wedding couples regarding the Coronavirus.

FAQ’s Regarding COVID-19 and Wedding Photography

Can we reschedule our wedding date because of COVID?
Our policies have slightly changed for 2021 but overall remain the same. We will be allowing wedding reschedules with no penalty only if a government restriction or shut-down is set in place that is preventing you from hosting your event. We will transfer over your retainer and any balances paid to your new wedding date with no additional fees. Again, please note we are only able to do this if a restriction is in place that prevents you from legally hosting your celebration. We do ask that you please consult with us first before choosing a new date to make sure that we are available. The retainer is non-refundable and we want to make sure you don’t lose any of your investment.

What if we want to keep our date, but don’t need as many hours of coverage?
Some of our couples have chosen to keep their date, but decided on a smaller guest count or are hosting a shorter event. As stated in our photo agreements, we do not allow package downgrades. If this is the case, not to worry! With the remaining amount of time that you have available for photography coverage, there are a ton of options for capturing some amazing photos we may not have been able to get because of time or guest restrictions. With the extra time available, we can explore some unique locations in the mountains or visit some scenic areas to get a wide variety of images. We’ll work with your schedule to fit in time to explore the vast amounts of opportunities we have in this beautiful state.
What if we have to move our wedding to a new location?
Not a problem at all! We travel all throughout the country and are happy to accommodate you as best as we can. If your new location is outside of Colorado or a significant distance increase from your original location, there may be a small travel fee required. Send us a message and we’ll work it out together.

What happens if our photographer gets sick?
As stated previously, it’s extremely important to us that your family’s health is a priority and we do not want to compromise their safety. We are making the required efforts to follow social distancing guidelines and taking precautions to stay healthy. If we do happen to get sick and can’t attend, rest assured your photography coverage will still continue as planned. We will find a replacement photographer ASAP that is experienced and shares a similar style to us so your images are consistent with the ones you see in our portfolio.

What precautions are you taking to provide a safe environment for us?
Aside from social distancing as much as possible during our events and in our personal lives, at every wedding we will be wearing a mask and will sanitize ourselves and our equipment whenever we can. We shot 40+ “COVID” events in 2020 and consider ourselves pros by now!

What if we need to cancel our wedding altogether?
If this is an option that you are contemplating, we would strongly recommend to first consider using that time to dress up and go on an adventure photography session with us in one of the many beautiful locations in Colorado or share your vows in an elopement ceremony.  If however you’re forced to cancel your event, please let us know as soon as possible so we can send out a cancellation agreement.

What if we’re continuing the wedding as planned with no changes?
Then we’ll be there! On our end, we are resuming business as usual and are sticking to our promised delivery deadlines, and doing our best to help create an amazing experience for you.
What have you seen wedding venues do to maintain a safe environment?
In 2020 we visited a lot of venues in Colorado. From what we saw, most of them have done an excellent job to make sure guests wear masks in the buffet lines, have plenty of hand sanitizing stations available, and follow state guidelines to make guests feel safe. Some even require the vendors each get temperature checks before entering the facility. We have felt very comfortable and safe and are confident our couples moving forward will as well.

If there’s something we forgot to include or a question not listed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and ask. We want to be as flexible and accommodating as we can and hope we can help make your dream wedding a reality!
